joomGPStracks is the right extension to give your community the possibility to share there best tracks to the internet. It doesn`t matters if they are for mountain biking, trekking, climbing or any other outdoor activity. Just set up the categories you prefer and let your visitors to the rest. At the moment this extension works with KML or GPX files from any GPS navigator. Visitors can download the tracks as also as one of these files und use them with there Garmin or other GPS tool. The downloadable files are generated on the fly and includes all neccessary infos, even links to your site.This extension use the Google Maps Api to show the tracks, so you need a free Google Maps Api Key, which you can get from Google. Your Users can leave a description for the track and can explain the terrain. Visitors can rate each track. In future there will be a commenting system, too. For now joomGPStracks is in an Alpha state and for testing only. A stable version will come as soon as possible.
