Installation
Download the extension from the download page and install it with the normal Joomla installation tools. On the info view after installation you have to press the button for database installation. Take a look to the createt /images/joomgpstracks/profile folder and set the permissions to 777 if not allready done. Then go to configuration site of the component and insert your Google Maps Api key which you can get here for free. You have to publish at least one categorie and one track to get the extension working. If you have problems with installation, use the forum of this site.
how to update
Before deinstalling the extension it is important you save your uploaded files in components/com_joomgpstracks/uploads. If you have done these, you can just deinstall the extension and install the new version. Then click on the button "update database" and thats it. Copy your saved track files back to the upload folder.

- if you use files with more than 1500 trackpoints, it could be you have to set you max_execution_time to 60s or higher (depends on your server power)
known Problems
You can get a timeout or running out of memory if the used file is not conform to GPX standards, but most of the tested GPX files will work. There are more problems with KML files, cause there are a lot of different formed types. KML files produced with Google Earth will work correctly. If you have a file which won`t work, please upload it to the forum so i can take a look on and tell me where it was produced.
Timeout and running out of memory could also happen, if your track has to much waypoints. You get best results with less than 1500 waypoints.
